The instructions and tips for dealing with E-Cards through "ATMs, POS Machines"


- In order to ensure the safety and security of your E-Cards please follow this steps as a minimum :

  • Keep your card in a safe place.

  • Do not disclose your e-card number in public and without no purpose, and do not send copies of your card or its number via electronic messages or e-mails.

  • Do not tell anyone about your PIN even to the bank agent or to the sales person, noting that bank employees will never ask about your PIN.

  • Keep your PIN in a safe place, do not keep it with your e-card in the same place, and do not write it on back of your card.

  • Always update your contact information with the bank so that the bank can reach you when necessary.

  • Make sure to activate the SMS service to stay in control over your account and inform the bank through the call center when receiving any message explains any unusual transaction.

  • In case of travel outside Egypt, inform the bank through the call center with your trip date and destination(s) to be able to follow your account and take the necessary action when any unusual transaction occurs on your account.

  • In case of using the card through magnetic technology abroad, notify your bank to cancel the card and re-issue a new one with a new PIN.

  • Check your personal accounts frequently through the monthly bank statement, telephone service, internet banking service, text messages or through the nearest branch.

  • Avoid leaving your withdrawal receipt at the ATM machine/at the place where using the POS machine and keep it at your end.

  • If you feel the presence of a strange person, or have doubts about something wrong at the ATM or POS machine, cancel the transaction immediately, and contact your bank's customer service to make sure your account is safe.

  • In case of losing your card, notify the bank immediately through the call center 19342 to stop the card and replace it with another card for you.

  • Do not use your card through public or open WIFI networks, and over untrusted websites that do not apply user protection systems.

  • Do not disclose your card data including PIN code, CVV or OTP over phone or any unsecured websites.

  • Keep an eye on transaction SMS notifications sent to the registered mobile number to confirm your transactions and report immediately any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
